What it is

Anatomy Learning - 3D Anatomy is a medical category app from 3D Medical OU. It is free to install, rated Everyone, and first appeared on Google Play on March 20, 2014. The latest update in our data is September 5, 2026.

The store summary calls it a 3D atlas of human anatomy built for medical students. The description backs that up with an interactive touch interface.

What it does well

The numbers are good. The app has 10,000,000+ installs and 171,637 ratings at 4.52 on average. Of the ratings, 83.7 percent are five stars and 4 percent are four stars.

Interaction is the selling point. You can rotate the models to any angle and zoom in and out. You can remove structures to see the layers underneath, and switch different body systems on or off so a diagram is less cluttered. That layer control is probably the most useful tool for study.

There are also 3D location quizzes, so you can test whether you can find a structure instead of only reading about it.

The contents list is broad: skeleton parts such as bones and joints, plus ligaments and muscles, then the heart and blood vessels, both nervous systems, sense organs, and the breathing, digestive, urinary and reproductive systems. The reproductive system appears in male and female versions.

Besides English, the interface is listed in Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, Polish, German, French and Spanish.

Where it falls short

The rating curve is polarized. While 83.7 percent gave five stars, 8.8 percent gave one star and 2.1 percent gave two. That is almost one in nine at the bottom, with very few in the middle (1.5 percent gave three). The data does not explain why people rated it low.

The listing also leaves out some things a buyer might want. It does not mention prices, purchases inside the app, offline use or the size of the download. We cannot say whether every system listed is available for free.

Another small point: the page frames it for medical students. It does not describe explanatory text or labels beyond the quizzes, so it is unclear how much a beginner would learn without a textbook.

Who it suits

Students who want to see how structures sit in three dimensions will get the most out of it. Casual learners may enjoy exploring, but should check what is free first.

What we like

  • Rotate and zoom models, and strip away structures to see what lies beneath
  • 3D location quizzes for self testing
  • Eight listed languages besides English, covering systems from bones to the nervous system

Watch out for

  • 8.8 percent of ratings are one star
  • The listing does not say whether any content costs extra
  • Listed as an aid for medical students, so depth for casual learners is unclear
Verdict: A well rated interactive anatomy atlas, though the listing leaves pricing and content depth unspoken and about one in nine raters scored it low.
