What it is

Indeed Job Search is the mobile app from Indeed Jobs, listed under Business. It is free, rated Everyone and was last updated on 2026-10-22. The listing gives no release date, so none is stated here. The tagline on Play is short: it says Indeed helps people get jobs.

What it does well

The description is built around finding and applying for work. You can search a database that, per the listing, also includes jobs posted on other sites, and get recommended roles based on your preferences and experience. The text says 12 jobs are added every second and that smart filters help narrow results, including remote, part time, freelance and side jobs.

On the application side, you can upload a resume or build one in the app, then apply with the saved version so you do not retype details each time. The app tracks your applications and sends a notice when an employer has read and responded.

Two data features stand out. The listing cites company ratings and reviews numbering over 700 million, plus pay figures (1.1 billion of them) that you can look up by role, employer and place. These are the listing’s figures, and I have not checked them.

What the ratings show

The app scores 4.7 from 14,202,469 ratings and has 100,000,000+ installs. Five stars account for 78% and four stars for 15.9%. Three stars take 4.8%, two stars 0.6% and one star 0.8%. The one-star share is very low. The notable feature is the middle: roughly a fifth of ratings are three or four stars, so satisfaction is high but a bit more qualified than a pure five-star pile.

Where it falls short

The listing carries two cautions. First, job listings may be created by third parties such as government entities, and Indeed says it is not affiliated with or representing them. Second, a long privacy passage says that by downloading the app you agree that Indeed may process and record your activity and communications in the app, and that identifiers and installation event data may be shared with certain service providers to support ad attribution.

Who it suits

It suits job seekers who want search, a saved resume and pay information in one free app. If data handling matters to you, read the legal links the listing points to before creating an account.

What we like

  • Resume upload or builder, plus applying with a saved resume
  • Tracks applications and notifies you when an employer responds, per the listing
  • Rated 4.7 from 14,202,469 ratings, and only 0.8% are one star

Watch out for

  • Some listings come from third parties, including government entities, and Indeed says it is not affiliated with them
  • The listing says user activity and identifiers may be processed or shared with service providers for ad attribution
  • About a fifth of ratings (20.7%) sit at three or four stars rather than five
Verdict: A well-rated, free job search tool with useful pay and company data, though the data-sharing language in the listing deserves a read before you sign up.
