What it is

Zepp, from Zepp, Inc., is the official app for Amazfit devices. It sits in the Sports category, is free to install, and carries an Everyone content rating. It first appeared on Google Play on December 13, 2016, and the data shows an update on October 28, 2026.

What it does well

The rating stands at 4.4 from 1,422,235 ratings, with 10,000,000+ installs. About 69.6 percent of those are five stars and 15.8 percent are four stars.

The tracking list is long. The listing names heart rate, sleep, stress and blood oxygen, as well as steps, calories, pace, distance, speed and strength logs. Sleep gets detail on stages, duration, breathing and recovery quality. For heart health it mentions heart rate, HRV and resting heart rate, and lets you add blood pressure and blood glucose by hand from other devices.

There is a food feature as well. You photograph a meal and the app returns calories, weight and macronutrients, and the description says you do not need a watch for this. Meals can be entered manually, and the number you can log is not capped according to the page.

The watch side is covered too. The app delivers software updates for an Amazfit watch, band or ring, and it opens the Zepp Store with downloadable mini apps and watch faces.

Where it falls short

The free core is real, but the AI wellness coach, called Zepp Aura, has a premium level. The listing says that tier is a monthly or yearly subscription that renews automatically unless cancelled. Prices are not in the data. It also marks the premium features as region specific without listing regions.

The star split shows some friction. 5.8 percent of ratings are one star and 3.4 percent are two stars, so about one in eleven raters scored it low. That is not dire, but it is worse than the very top apps in other categories.

The page also leans on privacy claims such as encryption and GDPR compliance. Those are statements by the developer and are not something the ratings can confirm.

Who it suits

Amazfit owners are the obvious users, since much of the value comes from pairing with a device. People who only want meal logging could try that part alone. If you expect full AI coaching without paying, the listing says otherwise.

What we like

  • Free core use: viewing data, updating software and importing maps need no payment, per the listing
  • Tracks heart rate, sleep, stress, blood oxygen, steps and training data
  • Photo based meal logging for calories and macros with no watch required, as described

Watch out for

  • AI coaching beyond the core version needs the Zepp Aura Premium subscription, billed monthly or yearly
  • 9.2 percent of ratings are 1 or 2 stars, higher than many apps in this category
  • Premium features are marked region specific, and the listing does not say which regions
Verdict: A solid fit for Amazfit owners who want free data tracking, with a subscription for the deeper AI coaching and a noticeable minority of unhappy raters.
